Ballpark District Still Empty

The NWA Naturals' season opener was last night at Arvest Ballpark. A tired-looking Mayor Sprouse stated he has been trying to recruit new business and we just need to continue to be patient.

Sprouse blames the economy for the lack of any new businesses three years after the ballpark opened and states he is confident the area will be fully developed in five to twenty years. He is jetting off to Sin City in a few days in another attempt to lure new business our way.

Be patient for another twenty years?

  1. Wow! Back to Vegas shopping for business? This makes how many years now? Someone notify the police we will need to direct traffic with all the new buinsess that will follow them home. What is the definition of insanity? We need an Economic Director and we need them now. Twenty more years of Webb? Or even Five and you can call us toast! Be patient? Are you kidding? There is talent to be hired. What were the headlines?. "City Promotions shaky investment". Surround yourself with talented people and that is what you become..Sprindale deserves better. If the board loves Webb so much then let them give him a job and do what is right for Springdale while we are still have a pulse.

  2. Give Sprouse some slack! At least he is trying to go and do something! How many times did the former Mayor go and try to recruit? Sprouse didn't have anything to do with the ballpark. As far as Perry, people like me have argued with him for years. He always wins, so I don't know why you people are trying to fight him.

  3. That's exactly the problem 5:28. The Mayor continues to lay down and just let Perry win because that's how it has always been. If Perry were doing his JOB, the mayor wouldn't have to try and go do it for him, yet he continues to cover for him.

These people at least have the balls to speak out and I hope they continue to kick and scream until something changes.
